HR CERTIFICATION CENTRE GRADUATES 127 MENTEES

Over the weekend the HR Certification Centre graduated 127 mentees of the National HR Mentorship through a virtual ceremony.

The quarterly virtual graduating ceremony is organized to pass out mentees who have gone through the 3-months’ National HR Mentorship and fulfilled all necessary requirements. This free mentorship program is a Corporate Social Responsibility of the HR Certification Centre. The theme for the graduation ceremony was: Upskilling HR Managers and Leaders.

Dr. Jeff Bassey, the Executive Director of the HR Certification Centre in his opening remarks said that the HR Mentorship is a way of supporting the HR fraternity in Ghana by developing young HR practitioners into key HR positions. He said, “Many managers are trained in hardcore management with little or no leadership- making organizations over-managed and under-led”. The HR Mentorship is one of the channels the HR Certification Centre is using to skill-up HR leaders.

Speaking on the theme: Upskilling HR Managers and Leaders, Dr. Bassey opined that, it takes two things to run a company: leading people and managing systems. And HR is at the forefront of managing people. He further explained that when people management goes wrong, there is a higher probability of the systems failing in an organization. This for him undergirds the need to upskill HR managers and leaders.

Ms. Phyllis Buckman emerged as the best-graduating mentee, taking home a scholarship worth GHS 8,400.00 which covers her tuition for the International HR Certification with the HR Certification Centre.

Mrs. Pearl Amoah Amponsah, the chief administrator of the HR Certification Centre congratulated all graduating mentees and encouraged them to use the knowledge acquired to boost their professionalism as Human Resources practitioners.
