On June 8 and 9, 2024, HR Certification Centre successfully launched its 39th cohort of professional HR certifications, with 182  candidates attending both in-person and online, respectively.

In her orientation session, the Executive Director, Pearl P. Tehoda, gave a comprehensive overview of the professional certification programs, emphasizing the HR Certification Centre's fourteen (14) years of operations with ten (10) years in professional HR certification. Over the past decade, the Centre has trained and prepared over 4,500 HR practitioners and business managers, providing compelling input to the HR community.

She further stated that as part of the organization’s 10th anniversary celebration, The HR Certification Centre is relocating to its newly acquired executive training center at East Legon on Bathur Street behind GT Bank.

She also stated that the six-month program is an international certification program from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) headquartered in Virginia, USA.

Founder and Lead Facilitator of the HR Certification Centre, Dr. Jeff Bassay, asked in his first lecture of the cohort on Strategic HR Management, “What are the challenges of today’s businesses for which HR must align?”

He stated that organizations are experiencing acute changes in core business processes. Organizations face intense competition, rapid technological advancements, customer preferences, globalization, and ongoing modifications in government regulations. For HR to align itself with organizational strategies, they must be abreast with contemporary issues of the business landscape and move from service HR to strategic HR.

He further stated that strategy is the process of positioning oneself to gain a competitive advantage. Therefore, businesses must reengineer their operating strategies based on employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and cash flow for industry competitions. HRs must enhance people strategy, organizational profitability, establish policies that are in compliance with government regulations, and engage leadership in a manner that is consistent with the business strategy to facilitate organizational growth.

In his closing remark, he stated that “constantly aligning people strategy with business strategy is what drives business growth and gives meaning to HR."

The HR Certification Centre is thrilled to welcome the 39th cohort and is committed to ensuring phenomenal training, coaching, and support throughout their journey.

The orientation and introductory lecture served as an inspiring start, setting the stage for the participants' development as skilled and strategic HR professionals.
