HR CERTIFICATION CENTRE PASSES OUT 174 MENTEES

On Saturday, 7th January 2023 the HR Certification Centre passed out 174 mentees from the National HR Mentorship. The theme for the passing out ceremony was, “ADJUSTING TO THE WORLD OF WORK”

The virtual ceremony was put together to pass out all mentees: tertiary students studying Human Resources (HR) Management and HR practitioners at the entry or mid-level of their career who enrolled for the National HR Mentorship. The National HR Mentorship is a totally free mentorship program for human resources practitioners organized by the HR Certification Centre.

Mr. Samuel Ayim, an astute lawyer, leadership coach, founder, and CEO of Focus Life Group addressed the mentees as the special guest of honour. In his speech, he charged the mentees to build good relationships in order to thrive in the world of business because, “70% of all job separations are attributable to poor relationships, and success at work is 15% technical skills and 85% relationships”.

In concluding his speech, Mr. Ayim shared 5 key points that the mentees could apply to win people and relationships in the world of work: Readiness, Connection, Trust, Investment, and Synergy.

Also in attendance was the acting head of the HR Directorate at the University of Ghana- Dr. Yvonne Lamptey who delivered a goodwill message. In her speech, she commended the mentees for going through the mentorship program successfully and charged them to invest their skills into the growing Ghanaian informal labour market to bring some structure to how people are managed in this sector.

Dr. Jeff Bassey the Executive Director of the HR Certification Centre in his remarks also charged mentees to aim for the top in their HR practice. He also promised that the HR Certification Centre will continue to improve the delivery of the mentorship program to affect HR development in Ghana.

Dr. Bassey also awarded full scholarships to Stephanie Nsiah and Daniel Mintah to study with the HR Certification Centre for Professional HR Certification. Stephanie and Daniel were awarded for being the best-performing mentees during the mentorship program.
