HR CERTIFICATION CENTRE VISITS CENTRAL UNIVERSITY BUSINESS SCHOOL.

The HR Certification Centre (HRCC) in its quest to promote human resources and leadership development has set out to engage students in tertiary institutions on topics that will help them bridge the gap between academia, professional education, and corporate life.

HRCC engaged the members of Central University Business School (CUBS) and Central Human Resources Student Association (CHURSA) on the topic: CREATING NETWORKS THAT WORK with Emmaline Datey a Career Coach & Trainer, and Kwabena Nyamekye-Dapaah the Marketing Manager at HR Certification Centre. This event took place at the Central University on Monday 8th May 2023.

At the seminar, Ms. Emmaline Datey encouraged students to leverage the opportunities available to them as students to establish good networks on campus. This will help them easily navigate the vicissitudes of life when they leave school. She further opined that digital platforms like LinkedIn offer job seekers and professionals the opportunity to network at a minimal cost. Therefore, students must sign up and take advantage of such platforms.

“Do not choose friends out of emotions rather out of purpose”, Ms. Datey said as she advised students on how to create networks that work. She further advised that before networking, one must have self-awareness, work on personal branding, and above all value people.

Mr. Kwabena Nyamekye Dapaah (Marketing Manager at HRCC) also enlightened students about the career opportunities available to HR students and the effects of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the future of Human Resources Management.

Mr. Nyamekye-Dapaah said, “Things that cannot be automated will become things of most value with the advent of AI”. He mentioned this to encourage students to build their soft skills and critical thinking abilities to help them stay relevant in today’s marketplace.

He also said, “The internet of things has made the world a smaller global village, and getting international certifications like PHRI and SPHRI will help HR students standout in the local and global marketplace”.
