HR PRACTITIONERS MUST SAVE THEIR COMPANIES FROM AVOIDABLE LIABILITIES, Dr Jeff Bassey.

Each year the HR Certification Centre organizes 4 sessions of the Labour Law Masterclass to educate HR Practitioners, HR Enthusiasts and Business Leaders on the proper application of Ghana's Labour Law and other supporting legal instruments. This week-long event was held at the National Banking College from 7th to 11th February, 2022.

During the opening lecture on 7th February, 2022, Dr Jeff Bassey the Country Director, Global Professional HR Certification opined that HR Practitioners need to understand the Labour Laws of Ghana and their accompanying Legal Instruments (LI) in order to save their respective companies from any avoidable liabilities. According to him, HR practitioners must do well to cover the Labour Law Act from cover to cover to appreciate matters of labour adjudication.

Mr. Senyo M. Adjabeng: an HR Specialist & Labour Consultant and Wing Commander (Rtd) Samuel Allotey: a Legal Practitioner & Labour expert also took the participants through Contracting & Ending Employee Relationships and Unions, Grievances & Disciplinary Procedures respectively.

This week-long masterclass saw over 120 HR practitioners from both the private and public sectors across various industries participating. The Masterclass was running both in-person and online at exactly 6 pm each day.

At the end of the masterclass, Pearl Amoah Amponsah: the Administrator of the HR Certification Centre charged HR Practitioners and business leaders to commit to a higher standard and participate in seminars that will enhance their practice and bring respect to the HR profession.

The next Labour Law Masterclass will be from 9th to 13th May, 2022.
