The HR Certification Centre recently passed out 150 mentees from the 4th cohort of the National HR Mentorship Programme, marking a significant milestone. The mentees were from different industries, including banking, manufacturing , technology, and education, just to mention a few.
Sophie Gogo, the Training Assistant, welcomed everyone to the virtual ceremony and commended the mentees for their outstanding accomplishments. She further emphasized the attention and commitment needed for an online study, admitting that it is not for the weak-willed. She stated that, given the limitations of internet connectivity and the arduous schedules of the students, online education may be difficult, demanding, and occasionally frustrating. She did, however, applaud the mentees for their commitment and tenacity during the programme.
Stephen Kwame Agbai, a renowned expert with years of experience in management and leadership positions in the supply chain and logistics sectors, spoke at the event as a distinguished guest speaker. highlighted the relevance of lifelong learning, remaining current in the field, and the value of people as significant assets for businesses.
In his insightful address, Stephen emphasized the vital relevance of individuals in organizations. According to him, all other parts of the organization would fall into place if HR professionals prioritize people and their resources, drawing on his vast expertise in a variety of management fields.
He emphasized how crucial it is for HR professionals to remain relevant in the quickly changing workplace of today. He agreed that the HR field is always evolving and that ongoing learning and growth are essential as the mentees advance in their respective HR professions. He urged them to pursue greatness and be open to learning new information and abilities rather than getting complacent. "HRs should seek first the people and their wellbeing, and all other things will follow," he said in closing.
Pearl Amoah Amposah,Chief Administrator of HRCC appreciated Dr. Jeff Bassay, the founder of the HR Certification Centre,for his vision in developing and supporting the mentoring programme. She also expressed gratitude to the mentors who served as facilitators, and she singled out Mr. Frank Annan, the program's training manager, for his unwavering support. She emphasized that by preparing newcomers to the HR profession, the programme is the HRCC's way of giving back to society.
Her message to the mentees was that "HR does not exist for itself, but for the organization." She urged them to widen their expertise by getting to know different company divisions rather than limiting their emphasis to only the typical HR tasks. They would be able to successfully contribute to the success of the organization.
The overall winner among the graduates, Lily Nkrumah Addai, was acknowledged for her extraordinary dedication and accomplishments during the course. The occasion was brought to a close by the Training Manager, Mr. Frank Annan, who gave a sincere vote of gratitude.
